Trinltjr Episcopal. Old Trinity, Nineteenth and Everett, has made elaborate preparations for celebrating the Christmas festival. Christmas eve at 11 o'clock there will be the midnight service, following a long-standing custom, which has become' a feature of Portland's relig ious observance. Irrespective of creed, large numbers of people attend. The full choir will render the music. Because Christmas eve falls on Sun day, the 8 o'clock evening service will be omitted. The Bible school of the First Con gregational church held its Christmas exercises In the parlors of the church on Friday night. A large number ot children, who mlffht not otherwis nave oeen remembered, were present as guests of the school. Dinners, clothes and toys were given to all ths guests. A Christmas program will be rendered by members of the school on Sunday morning in placa of the regular class work. On Saturday afternoon the members of the primary department of tlio Bible school were entertained at a Christmas party by the supertntend-nt or the department.
